Why??

Sorry for the long break ... I was busy with my projects and stuff ... the title of this post ... isn't it intriguing?? Even though it is a single word ... it says a lot and means a lot....

many aspects of life need to be questioned and and lot more of them to be explored... Life of a modern day student is like a long day which ends rather abrubtly... twelve years of learning tested in a single exam/test is not a fair option to the students who are fampously dubbed as the "Future of the Nation".... However, a large portion of the student community is able to reproduce all the concepts in a single day... And that is the difference between life and death...

I may have taken up an open ended topic for discussion, but i feel that this is the most important topic in the current scenario.... And I would welcome the opinions of the others here as well..

Book Review

I badly wanted to post something here... something worth reading... thats when i came up with this idea of a book review....

This is not really an expert's review.. but all the same a review..
The book is "Memoirs of a geisha" by Arthur Golden...
Arthur golden's novel opens up a new world where you get transported to another time, another place, and feel that you're listening and seeing with someone else's eyes...The novel is an account of the life of a geisha named sayuri.... The book describes vividly every single detail of the geisha's life and most importantly clears all doubts in the minds of the readers ... the book boldly explains that a geisha is not a prostitute as many people understand it to be.....

The life of Sayuri makes us triumph , suffer , dream and doubt together with her.. all the way through her life…
The book ends with these lines, which sum up life in a very philosophical manner...

" Whatever our struggles and triumphs, however we may suffer them, all too soon they bleed into a wash, just like watery ink on paper"

A novel which is endlessly fascinating... a narrative that is both gripping and beautifully paced.. it is a wonderful read...

Holidays and a ... bit more...

Holidays ... are the time for people to enjoy and relax from the pressurising work that stretches over the course of the year...
Especially school going children just love these summer breaks when they forget schools, their teachers, their homework and what not!
But the scenario is changing and children are forced to work even in these summer breaks... they are assigned some work at home by their teachers and some children are sent to the so- called summer camps....
Children today hardly get the time to enjoy the bright sunshine or the brilliant sunset ... In fact most of them are absorbed in their schoolwork or summer camps whatever it may be...

People in news..

* Jeffrey Archer-
The author was recently in India for the release of his book " The Prisoner Of birth". His interview was typical but interesting..... He follows cricket and the ideal match is India vs England at Lord's....

the english football captain and Chelsea captain was in the headlines for all wrong reasons... he missed a crucila 5th penalty in the UEFA champs league finals to hand the trophy to eventual winners Manchester united... However he bounced back amidst loads of critisicm as he lead his country to a 2-0 win over USA.. he scored the opening goal with an emphatic headerthat opened up the game...

Questions of the month..

* As my blog says I am eccentric... thats probably the reason why i'm posting a new topic...

Questions of this month [may] :

* Nepal - finally Republic?

Nepal celebrated a new era as the world's youngest republic Thursday after consigning its centuries-old monarchy to the history books and ordering god-king Gyanendra to quit his palace in two weeks.
In an unprecedented vote capping a peace accord between Maoists and mainstream parties, a new constitutional assembly voted just before midnight on Wednesday to abolish the 240-year-old monarchy and establish a republic.
On Thursday morning, the flag of the Shah dynasty was taken down from the main palace in Kathmandu, which will now be turned into a national museum.

Finally seems as if nepal is a republic..!!!
